Lauren Blake, M.A. is completing her doctoral internship in clinical psychology at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System.
Grief is paradoxically an individualized and unifying experience, to be exempt from what society may deem the “necessary timeline,” or “required feeling or reaction.” Though the experience is inherently individual, it can allow us to connect with others, to open our hearts, and to fully experience our own finiteness and humanity. Our grief is the manifestation of great love, something I wish for you to deeply cherish and cultivate as we remember your loved one. Though the journey feels painful, lonesome, and at times perhaps hopeless, my goal is to walk alongside you and provide you my heart, empathy, compassion, and safe space during this difficult time.
