Big news —The MISS Foundation, the Selah Carefarm Team and the DJC Memorial Fund are thrilled to announce we will break ground this week on Selah House!
With more than 700 donors, dozens of teams participating, along with a remarkable $85,000 match donation last year by the Daniel J. Coleman Memorial Fund, we are so incredibly humbled by the outpouring of continued support for this special project. To date, we have raised an impressive $411,000 for Selah House. We can’t wait to complete this sanctuary for grieving families with you.
We still have more work to do though. Our fundraising goal to complete the building project is $685,000. We truly need your help to finish this goal.
To open our doors in 2020, a few of our top donors have generously stepped up once again to match your donations dollar for dollar. Through the end of the year, or until the match fund is reached up to $35,000, we will double your donations beginning Tuesday, Nov. 26th, the day we break ground.
In its completion, the beautifully designed 3400-square-foot Selah Family Guest House will include 4 bedrooms, a study, a contemporary kitchen, community dining area, a spacious gathering room, and so much more. The guest house for the traumatically bereaved will overlook the magical Selah Carefarm with its 41 amazing and much-loved rescue animals.
There are a few key ways to help us complete our fundraising goal.

We are truly honored by the ongoing generosity and compassion from so many donors who gave anywhere from $10 to $85,000, along with the many team-oriented campaigns that turned a single donation into multiple contributions to support MISS, the Selah Family House, and our bereaved families.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Let’s build the Selah Family House together!
The Selah Carefarm, where the family house is being built, is just outside of Sedona AZ. It’s the first carefarm for the traumatically bereaved in the U.S. Created by MISS Foundation Founder Dr. Joanne Cacciatore in 2017, the carefarm, with its 41 rescue animals, includes 10 acres of beautiful farmland where family members dealing with trauma and grief are able to find safe and compassionate space to be with their emotions.
“My time on the carefarm completely transformed my experience of the world after my child’s death. I felt held, safe, and learned how to cope and feel hope for living… I’m more present as a parent to my other children now. I can’t express my grateful heart enough.”
The MISS Foundation is an international 501(c)3, volunteer-based organizaion providing C.A.R.E. [counseling, advocacy, research, and education] services to families experiencing the death of a child.
