This mother-daughter duo (in the foreground) is Stella (mama) and Virginia (baby). They were in a kill pen, on their way to slaughter when we were contacted by a Good Samaritan looking to find a safe place for them. It was easy to fall in love with them! Virginia was still trying to nurse before they arrived but the stress of being captured was too much for Stella. Still a good mama, Stella takes Virginia with her everywhere. They are never more than a few feet apart. And we are glad because we wanted them to live out their weeks and years together on the carefarm.
