Diana was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona.  She met her husband John just after graduating from high school, and they were married in 2000.  They had their first child, Madison, in March of 2002.  Their second child, Alexis was born July 30, 2003 with a congenital heart defect called hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Alexis died 25 days later on August 24th due to complications from her heart defect.  Diana and her family came to MISS soon after Alexis’ death here they found support, compassion, and a place where they could keep their daughter’s memory alive.  Their third child, Braeden, was born in August of 2004.

Diana worked for two years as an EMT for SW Ambulance, and has been working as an elementary school health technician for the past 7 years.  In February, she will begin the nursing program at Phoenix College to become an RN.  She hopes to work in the Pediatric-ICU when she graduates so she can help families that are going through experiences similar to what she went through with her daughter’s illness.  Diana enjoys reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family.
