I am so grateful to have this opportunity to formally introduce myself to you.
My name is Clara Davis and I am a new Master’s of Social Work Intern with the MISS Foundation. As an Arizona native, I grew up in the Southeastern Arizona town of Sierra Vista. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis in Family Studies from Northern Arizona University in December of 2003.
After graduating, I remained in Flagstaff, Arizona. While in Flagstaff I was blessed to work for several exceptional social work agencies including Adventure Discovery, Northland Family Help Center and Catholic Charities. I have worked in a variety of settings including group homes, a children’s shelter and a domestic violence shelter. In addition, I have experience as a foster care and adoptions worker.
On a personal note, I am a lover of music and long conversations with friends at local coffee shops. I enjoy being outdoors, specifically hiking, camping and kayaking. Reading a book with a cup of green tea is how you’d find me during down time. Most importantly, I love helping others heal and grow. Ultimately, after receiving my Masters in Social Work, I hope to continue working with trauma survivors.
I am so thankful to have the opportunity to work with the MISS Foundation. Thank you for the opportunity to be a humble student during one of life’s most difficult and unfair experiences. I honor and admire your strength and anticipate I will learn far more from you than you will from me. Thank you so much.
